Discovering How To Forgive Yourself; Living A Life Of Freedom in Just Ten Days!

We’ve all had different things in life we wish we had not done. Often these things cause us sadness as we are reminded of them, while different things cause us such heartache we are able to barely live with ourselves and we find it is hard, if not impossible, to forgive ourselves for it. Perhaps you know what I’m talking about. You are so ashamed of something that youve done that you can’t comprehend you might or should forgive yourself. Instead, you’re feeling all you are able to do is spend the rest of your life paying penance for your wrongdoing, in hopes that may remove the overpowering burden of guilt you live with each day.

Regardless of your past wrongdoing, you can be released from the burden you now carry, due to your unwillingness to forgive yourself. You may have sought the clemency of Our Lord God for what you have done, yet if you have not been able to forgive yourself, you may remain in a place of defeat, maybe bondage, until you choose to be obedient with the Word of our Lord and excuse yourself.

Often , when we glance at the meaning and desire of of a word, we are able to better know how to use it in our lives. This is true as we glance at the Greek word for forgiveness which means to free fully, i.e. Literally relieve, release, dismiss or let die, pardon, divorce from, depart, dismiss, let go, loose, put ( send ) away, release, set at liberty.

To all who ask, your Heavenly Father offers His gift of forgiveness, meaning; He totally frees, releases, dismisses and pardons us from the debt and guilt of our sin. He sets us “body, soul and spirit” at freedom. However, he doesn’t quit there. Our Heavenly Father then tells us to forgive others, as well as forgiving ourselves, Just like we have been forgiven, assuring us the ability, by His Holy Spirit, to do so.

How does one go about pardoning themselves? There is no exact way but these suggestion might be helpful.

First, understand that one needs to take the decision to excuse ones self based on God’s instruction to do so. Forgiveness is a choice and an act of the will is critical to cause it to happen.

Leviticus 19:18 says you shall love your neighbour as yourself… To love yourself is a command of God and love always carries with it forgiveness.

Second, if you have not already, ask your Heavenly Father to forgive you for the sins you have done. It is vital to do that before working thru forgiving yourself. Remember, He is waiting to excuse you and will graciously do so , if you only ask Him.

Nehemiah 9:17 But you are a God of forgiveness, Gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in loving kindness.

Then, sit down quietly with The Lord God and ask His Holy Spirit to reveal to you the things that you have not let go of or given yourself forgiveness for. Jot it all down on a notepad. Be sure and put down all of the specifics list the names of every person you hurt and the ways that you caused them harm. ( Nobody will see this paper. )

From there be honest and express how you’re feeling due to what you did; Are you annoyed at yourself? Do you feel embarrassed? Unworthy? Be honest, for your Heavenly Father knows it all already. This is a neat place to release all of the emotions you have carried or tried to reject.

Now, make the choice to forgive yourself as God has forgiven you. Literally release, dismiss, let die, pardon, let go, loose, put ( send ) away, release and set yourself at freedom from the wrong you are guilty of. Put your evildoing into His hands and ask Him to heal your emotional injuries and allow you to move on without regrets, let go of the past and start fresh!
Eventually destroy your list and throw it in the garbage can as a visible memory jogger that the guilt of what you have done has been forgiven and carried away, gone for good.

Now, go and experience the healing, peace and freedom that is yours to enjoy as you praise God for His power of forgiveness.
